Bring the outside in
Minimalism means plenty of light flooding in. These interiors are characterised by an open-plan layout, which makes for a good dose of breathing space.
Curtains are often done away with, which allows you to draw nature in from outside. The green contributed by houseplants is a good addition to this simple peaceful look. Monstera and Chinese money plants are ideal green eye-catchers.
Play with texture
Minimalism risks coming across cold and clinical. Add accessories with different textures such as bamboo, wool, cotton, marble, ceramic and porcelain. You can incorporate some natural elements by adding small items of furniture like side tables, for example. They create a relaxed ambience and give your home a cosy feel. Be sure keep the colour palette serene here as well, so that everything ties in together.
